Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (AAU)

The AAU is a vibrant and innovative university, located at the intersection of three unique cultures. It is the leading academic educational and research institution in Carinthia and serves as a hub for the acquisition, exchange and transfer of knowledge across the entire Alps-Adriatic Region.
More than 10.000 students attend the AAU in Klagenfurt for the purposes of study and research, including around 1.500 students from abroad. Approximately 1.300 members of staff produce outstanding achievements in teaching, research and administration.

Faculty of Technical Sciences

The Faculty of Technical Sciences focuses primarily on computing, information and communication technologies and their theoretical foundations. To this end, the faculty hosts seven institutes informally grouped into the three departments: Informatics (INF), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Technical Mathematics (TEMA).

Institute of Information Technology

The Institute of Information Technology (ITEC) at Klagenfurt University encompasses the computer and communication technology aspects of the Informatics Department. ITEC is comprised of two research groups with two full professors and, currently, 25 scientific, technical and administrative staff. The Institute´s research focuses on distributed multimedia systems and multimedia communication.
